He is LIGHT and LIFE and TRUTH! Look to Him for the ALL the answers. He will guide us, if we'll let Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

White Pines--300 planted, 200 more to go! :0)

Of the 1400 trees we will plant over the next few weeks, the first 300 are in the ground--yeah! We've hit a snag today and it's called "rain". However, we do not complain as we begged the Lord for rain so much over the summer...that we are now never upset when it rains!!!

Hopefully the ground will be dry enough to try to plant again tomorrow. However, with the rain they are calling for tonight it's not likely. We may end up having to finish on Monday.

The Douglas Firs and Spruce trees come on Wednesday of next week (250). Then on Thursday or Friday we'll receive 250 Frazier Firs. So, next week will be busy, too!!

Planting Christmas Trees--2nd Year

We are getting ready to plant trees again. Here are some pictures of last year's field (1100 trees in all). It's been a year and they've done well. We've not had much loss at all. Thanks to all of Dakota's watering, watering, and more watering through the drought!!

I'm also posting a picture of a field with no trees in it. It's the one we are currently fencing and figuring the lay-out on for the trees that will be here on Wednesday, Feb. 25th.

We're excited about a new batch of trees to plant (1400--wow!), but I'm sure the excitement will ebb once we become EXHAUSTED! :0)

Keep checking back for more pictures as we plant.

10 Things.....

I got this idea from a friend of mine (jolincountry.blogspot.com)and decided to do something similar. Resolutions tend to fizzle with the month of January so, I've decided to commit to accomplish 10 things in 2009......here are the things that I am prayerfully going to work on and strive to accomplish:

1. A closer relationship with Jesus.

2. Reading through the Bible in a year.

3. Family devotions and prayer times on a regular basis.

4. Concentrate on better parenting and "wifeing" (hehehe, my new word for '09).

5. Be an encourager and helper to those in need.

6. Be healthier by starting an exercise routine.

7. Cook more from scratch and eat healthier.

8. Spend money with more wisdom and less waste.

9. Start selling my natural products (sonshinebotanicals.blogspot.com).

10. Have an attitude that glorifies God in all that I do.

Anybody else interested in making a "10 things" list?

Happy New Year--May 2009 be a Great Year!!

Our hope for you all is a closer relationship with the ones you love and ultimately the ONE you love--Jesus Christ!

We are committing to stay in His Word more this year and to make more of an effort at family prayer times and discussion of Scripture. Join us in this commitment, won't you?

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

We owe all we are and all we have to Jesus Christ, who we celebrate all through the year as our Savior and Lord. This time of year is precious to us as we celebrate “Advent” and look to His returning. May the joy of this season as you celebrate His birth draw you closer to Him. Remember…Wise men still seek Him!!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

We wish you a merry CHRISTmas and pray that God will bless you all in the coming year!
