He is LIGHT and LIFE and TRUTH! Look to Him for the ALL the answers. He will guide us, if we'll let Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Now He Looks Like A Boy!

You guessed it! I cut his hair all off. Whadayathink?

Isn't he a cutie?? I guess I am a little bit prejudiced.....just a little, maybe!

Fun in the SNOW!

We got a little bit of snow last weekend. It was so pretty. Just not enough to really do any sledding....although we tried! :0)

It was a dry snow, so we were not able to pack it to make snowballs or a snowman. We still had fun attempting all of these things although the windchill was 15!

Me and my Boo!

Daddy and Caleb

Mackenzie came out and played with us, too!
Friends!

Nanny Boo Boo pushing Hannah down on her belly!!
Nanny Boo Boo trying to sled on her belly! She's too funny! Not afraid to try anything!

Not the best of pictures-ha, ha!
Hannah in her bright colors!
Be careful...it's slick. Let's hold onto each other so we can go down together!

Finished Caleb's Hat for His Birthday--Finally!

And well.....it's a little bit big for him. Misjudged the size in my newbie knitting state, but isn't it pretty! Oops! So, looks like he and I will have matching hats! I've started on his (again) in the same yarn, but at least it will be in the right size this time. It's almost done!

Making Caramels--A Family Tradition

We made our family-special recipe this year. It's caramels! They are the yummiest! When I was growing up we made these every year and gave them to friends and family over the holidays. We always enjoyed wrapping them. It was a special family time. My mom has kept this recipe secret for a long time. She's finally sharing it with us and others. The recipe used to stay in their safety deposit box. So, when Mima & Papaw were here and U. Andy, A. Dede, Avery & Landon and even Nick, we spent an evening making and wrapping caramels..
Mixing the sugar and corn syrup--so healthy :0)
Waiting for "soft ball" stage
Cooling in the pan
Papaw cutting the wax paper to wrap each piece in
Andy cutting and everyone else wrapping
Mima cutting the caramels and Dakota wrapping them
Mima cutting and everybody pitching in to help wrap
The eating of them is the best part! When Mima's cutting, you have to be sneaky to swipe a few!
The finished product--um, um, good!!

Here are the men trying to figure out how to make it work.
Here's Caleb in charge of the remote!

He also got a Bible Man movie, action figures, and a Bible Man mask and cape.
Dallas--um....I mean Bible Man!
Bible Man Wannabe--otherwise known as Nanny Boo Boo
Bible Man again--um....I mean Hannah this time!
Everybody wants to be Bible Man---um...except for Caleb! :0)

2009 Christmas Pics

We had my family here for the holidays this year. It was a wonderful time together. We got to meet my almost 5 yr. old nephew, Dallas (Dallas is the son of my brother who passed away this summer. He came with my mom and dad from Texas).

My sister followed everyone around with the camera. See the pics below:

Lora-Joy (A. DeDe) with Mercy--everybody loved Mercy. We had to hold her when everyone left just to make sure no one snuck off with her!! :0)
Hannah with A. DeDe
Dallas playing Caleb's guitar--Caleb must have been sleeping because he sure did not want to share!! :0)
Papaw with Hannah & Mercy
Papaw with Mercy--again! She really liked my dad.

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

We always make a birthday cake for Jesus and have it for breakfast on Christmas morning. We sing Happy Birthday and then eat!

We bake a dark chocolate cake--this represents our sin.

We put a white frosting on the top--this represents the purity of Jesus--He is our righteousness.

Then we use red hots to write Happy Birthday, Jesus on the top--the red represents the blood of Jesus that washes away our sin.

Oops! This year, Daddy got into the cake and began to cut the pieces before I took a pic. Oh well! :0)
